Metadata file is empty after reading in with sp.read.vizgen

Hi,
I tried to load some sample data with squidpy, but the metadata file seems to be empty after loading (only nan).
Why is that and how can I fix it?

I now realized that this is only true for some of the datasets provided by MERSCOPE (MERSCOPE FFPE Solution Showcase). I can read in the mouse liver dataset used in the vignette (Vizgen Mouse Liver Squidpy Vignette — Squidpy main documentation) but not the human liver data sample dataset from merscope with the squidpy.read.vizgen() function. Did anyone have this problem before and knows how to solve it?
