Can gimvi be used to symmetrically impute missing genes in two spatial datasets?

Hi, we have two spatial (MERFISH) datasets with partially overlapping gene panels. It seems possible to use gimvi to impute the genes from one dataset (e.g., panel 1 genes) into another dataset (e.g., panel 2 genes), but would it be possible to symmetrically impute genes across both panels - thereby getting the union of the genes in the set of datasets?

Sorry for the delay, in principle yes, but Iā€™m not sure if the code is designed this way right now.
